ConnorGilbert

We are happy to announce that Connor Gilbert, bass player in our “Free For All” and “Blue Train” ensembles, will receive a Spotlight Award from the San Diego Unified School District’s Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Program. Connor is a junior at Mission Bay High School.

Every year, San Diego Unified School District’s Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Program recognizes the outstanding work of students, teachers, community arts partners, and school leaders who are “Transforming Lives Through the Arts” at SDUSD through the VAPA Spotlight Awards.

In honor of Connor’s work as a student musician though his participation in multiple performance combos at Mission Bay High School (Swing Choir, Gypsy Jazz quartet, Mambo Orchestra and the Jazz Preservationists), in addition to his enthusiasm and dedication to music, he will receive the Spotlight award.

This event will be at the Central Library on March 25, 2020 from 6:30 to 8 PM.

Congratulations, Connor! We are so proud of you and your accomplishments.
